Vehicle Checker

We are currently seeking a qualified Vehicle Examiner (VE) to conduct Roadworthy and Vehicle Inspections within our Authorised Vehicle Inspection Station.

About the Role

As a Vehicle Examiner (VE), you will be a nominated employee of an Authorised Vehicle Inspection Station, authorised by the Registrar of Motor Vehicles to conduct inspections and sign Vehicle Inspection Forms.

In this position, you will be responsible for conducting a variety of vehicle inspections, including:

• Pre-registration inspections of light and heavy vehicles and trailers
• New and used vehicle inspections
• Defect notice clearance inspections
• Scheduled taxi inspections (Type 2 Premises only)
• LPV inspections up to 13 seats (Type 2 Premises only)
• Scheduled luxury hire car inspections (Type 2 Premises only)
• Scheduled hire and drive inspections (Type 2 Premises only)
• Scheduled restricted hire vehicle inspections (Type 2 Premises only)
• Type approval inspections (Type 2 Premises only)
• Completing inspection documentation accurately and in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Ensuring all inspections are completed in line with applicable legislation, standards, and safety requirements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• A minimum Certificate III Trade Qualification in an automotive mechanical discipline
• Eligibility to become, or currently be, an authorised Vehicle Examiner
• Strong technical automotive knowledge across a range of vehicle types
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work independently and make sound judgments
• High levels of integrity and professionalism
• A current Australian Driver's Licence
