Accountant

About the role:

Eagers Automotive are looking for a professional and efficient Accountant to join our Bentley office. This full-time, hands-on role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys being involved in dealership operations and working closely with management in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Reporting, and working closely with the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the business, partnering with dealership leaders and a wider network of experienced automotive accountants. Previous dealership experience would be highly regarded; however, the right attitude and a strong willingness to learn will set you up for success in this role.

Duties will include:

* Prepare monthly profit & loss statements and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policy
* Resolve financial queries from dealership leaders
* Assist the Financial Controller with day-to-day administration operations, including cash flow management, accounts payable and receivable
* Support clerical staff within the Administration Department when required
* Maintain records and compliance to meet the company’s taxation obligations, including BAS & FBT returns.
* Year End and Half Year End file preparation
* Assist with monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes

About you:

You would ideally possess:
* University degree in accounting
* Strong proficiency in Excel and high attention to detail and accuracy
* Ideally you will have 2-5 years experience working towards your CA/CPA but not essential
* Work well with others and a part of a team; however, can also self-direct and enjoy working independently and autonomously
* A positive, can-do attitude
* Ability to prioritise and handle a varied workload time-effectively, without fuss, and to a high standard
* Experience using Pentana ERA will be highly regarded but is not essential
