Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join the team at Mercedes-Benz Toorak. This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the dealership, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting across all areas of the business.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of core accounting functions while working closely with dealership leadership to maintain financial integrity and support business performance within a premium automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Managing accounts payable and receivable functions
• Preparation of Profit & Loss statements and financial reports
• Cash flow management and reporting
• Managing general ledger reconciliations and journal entries
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies
• Supporting payroll processing and related reporting requirements
• Preparing statutory reporting and assisting with audits
• Liaising with external accountants, auditors, and key stakeholders

About You

• Previous experience in an accounting role
• Basic understanding of financial accounting principles
• Automotive industry experience highly regarded
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
• Relevant accounting qualification (or working towards) highly regarded
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Proactive, deadline-driven, and highly organised
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-performing environment
