Finance and Insurance Consultant

About the Role

BYD North Lakes are seeking a motivated and detail‑focused Trainee Finance and Insurance Consultant to join our growing sales team. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long‑term career in automotive finance, with full training and development provided.

Working closely with experienced Finance and Insurance Consultants and the Sales team, you will learn the end‑to‑end finance and insurance process while developing the skills required to progress into a fully qualified Finance and Insurance Consultant role.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting Finance and Insurance Consultants with the presentation of finance, insurance, and warranty products to guests
• Learning to prepare and submit finance applications to a panel of lenders
• Assisting with finance documentation, settlements, payouts, and remittances
• Developing an understanding of ASIC, lender, and compliance requirements
• Maintaining accurate records and reporting in line with dealership standards
• Working collaboratively with Sales and Management teams to support guest outcomes and dealership targets

Skills & Experience

• Strong desire to build a career in automotive finance or financial services
• Previous experience in automotive sales, dealership administration, finance support, or customer service is highly regarded but not essential
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Professional communication skills with a guest‑focused approach
• Comfortable using computer systems and Microsoft Office
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment
• Ability to provide clear police and bankruptcy checks (supported for the right candidate)
• Ability to achieve and maintain required financier licensing credentials
• Current driver’s licence
