Workshop Controller Foreman

About the Role

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for the daily control and coordination of workshop operations, ensuring all repair and service work flows smoothly, safely and efficiently through the department.

You will act as the link between Technicians, Service Advisors and Management, helping to maintain productivity, quality standards and customer satisfaction across the workshop.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and control daily workshop workflow and job allocation
• Allocate repair orders to technicians based on skillset and workload
• Monitor job progress to ensure on-time completion and efficiency
• Conduct quality control checks to ensure work meets Toyota standards
• Manage and reduce repeat repairs, rework and comebacks
• Liaise closely with Service Advisors to manage priorities and customer expectations
• Maintain a safe, organised workshop environment with strong WHS focus
• Support apprentices’ training and ongoing team development

About You

• Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Foreman or Senior workshop team member within a dealership or automotive service environment
• Proven ability to organise, prioritise and manage workflow in a high-volume workshop
• Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively across technicians, advisors and management
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach to managing workshop operations
• Current and valid Australian driver’s licence
