Vehicle Inspector

Webster Trucks Launceston are looking for a qualified vehicle inspector/diesel Tech for conducting thorough evaluations of both new and used vehicles for safety and operational compliance. Duties include examining the vehicle for visible signs of wear, inspecting the interior and exterior for any damage, and testing the brakes, steering, and electrical systems. The Vehicle Inspector must also be able to identify and document any mechanical or safety-related issues, as well as follow all safety protocols. This position requires a valid driver’s license and experience in inspecting vehicles. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are a must.

• Carry out safety, roadworthiness and emission inspections on vehicles
• Ensure vehicles meet applicable regulations and standards
• Test and inspect vehicle systems and components
• Complete inspections and produce written reports
• Maintain inspection records and logs
• Advise vehicle owners on necessary repairs and maintenance
• Work on the workshop floor when not doing inspections

Desired Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and good driving record
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment
• Ability to detect and analyze technical problems
• Ability to work independently
• Knowledge of vehicle safety and maintenance standards
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
