GENERAL MANAGER - JOHN ANDREW FORD

We are looking for a customer focused, goal orientated, high performing General Manager to join our team and help Eagers Automotive deliver their ‘Next 100’ strategy.

Our drive to be the #1 Ford retail operation in New Zealand for both Sales and Customer experience, means we need the right person to fill this pivotal position.

 

As a General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the dealership’s operations from sales and service to parts and finance. 

You will inspire, develop, and empower our high calibre team, whilst ensuring optimal operational performance and delivering an outstanding customer experience. 

 

This role will see you:

  • Leading by example, a hands-on leader who values ‘management by walking around’ and isn’t afraid to roll their sleeves up when needed
  • Lead the sales team, creating a high-performing team, supporting staff engagement, and ensuring best practice is carried out across all areas, ensuring that the department meets its sales targets
  • Hiring and training sales staff, utilising customer satisfaction scoring to improve and maintain customer experience
  • Accountability of all administrative tasks with the use of strong organisation and time management skills
  • Act as a liaison between the Sales department, other departments, and the Leadership team
  • You’ll bring proven experience in aligning strategy with goals, driving results, and ensuring customer excellence, with the resilience and creativity to adapt to change and improve processes

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a sales department with in-depth knowledge of budgeting, stock control, pre-delivery liaison, CRM processes and all relevant legislation
  • A positive and high-performance attitude, thriving on achieving goals, targets and KPIs while loving the satisfaction that success brings
  • Proven experience mobilising teams to achieve greatness, recognising and rewarding consistently good performance and behaviour in a team-based environment
  • Excellent communication, confident decision-making skills, motivation, and organisational skills
  • A passion and focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience
  • Excellent health and safety discipline; and the ability to develop and lead a strong health and safety culture
  • Strong financial management and analytical skills

 

This would be an ideal position for an experience Vehicle Sales Manager or Senior Used Car Sales Executive that is looking to progress in their career.
