Central Highlands Toyota Emerald is seeking an experienced Workshop Controller/ Coordinator to lead the day‑to‑day operation of our service workshop. This is a permanent role suited to a hands‑on leader who enjoys balancing people management with workflow coordination, quality control and customer outcomes.

 

You’ll play a key role in ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely and to Toyota standards, while supporting and developing the workshop team.

 

About the role

 

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will oversee workshop operations and act as the link between technicians, service advisors and customers. Your focus will be on productivity, quality, and maintaining a smooth, well‑organised workshop.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating daily workshop workflow and job allocation
  • Leading, mentoring and supporting technicians and apprentices
  • Monitoring productivity, quality and turnaround times
  • Conducting job checks to ensure work meets Toyota standards
  • Assisting with technical support and troubleshooting when required
  • Maintaining a safe, compliant and efficient workshop environment
  • Supporting customer satisfaction through clear communication and job oversight

 

About you

 

You’re a natural leader with strong technical knowledge and a practical, solutions‑focused approach.
Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Foreman or Senior Technician
  • Strong knowledge of automotive repair and servicing processes
  • Leadership experience within a dealership or similar environment
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • A commitment to quality workmanship and team development
  • A current driver’s licence
