Assistant Accountant

The Victoria Corporate Team is seeking a driven and detail-focused Assistant Accountant to join our high-performing finance team, with a strong focus on supporting the growing BYD business. This role plays a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong controls, and supporting the broader finance function in a fast-paced environment.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will support the finance function across key accounting activities including reconciliations, reporting, and month-end processes. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, growth-focused environment and is looking to build their career within a global automotive brand leading the transition to electric vehicles.

What you will be doing:

• Process journal entries and ledger reconciliations
• Process bank statement and credit card statements
• Support deal processing functions as required
• Support accounts payable and receivable functions as required
• Supporting the wider Administration team with general tasks
• Interacting with department managers as needed
• Assisting the Accountant and Financial Controller
• Identify and support process improvement initiatives within finance

What you need:

• Prior admin and accounting experience in automotive industry is highly regarded
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Familiarity with VicRoads systems (highly regarded but not essential)
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• A strong sense of responsibility and a positive, can-do attitude
