Apprentice - Technician

Due to continued growth and expansion, we have multiple Apprentice Technician opportunities available at our Clayton Pre-Delivery Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to begin your automotive career working with one of the fastest growing and most innovative electric vehicle brands in the market.

Starting your apprenticeship within our Pre-Delivery Centre, you will gain hands-on experience learning the fundamentals of vehicle preparation, servicing, diagnostics, and BYD’s advanced electrical vehicle systems. With a strong focus on EV technology, this role offers a unique pathway into the future of automotive.

Following successful progression through your apprenticeship and demonstrated performance, you will have the opportunity to transition into a dealership workshop role at either Dandenong or Brighton, continuing your development within the Eagers Automotive network.

What you will be doing:

• Assist with the preparation, servicing, and inspection of new BYD vehicles
• Learn to use workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and manufacturer systems
• Develop understanding of EV systems and advanced electrical vehicle technology
• Follow workshop processes and manufacturer guidelines
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
• Work collaboratively with technicians and leaders to meet delivery deadlines

What you need:

• Genuine interest in the automotive industry and EV technology
• Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills
• Interest in electrical systems and emerging vehicle technology
• Good attention to detail with a safety-first mindset
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude
• Current driver’s licence or working towards obtaining one
• Commitment to completing an automotive apprenticeship
