This unique opportunity is ideal for someone who understands the nuances of compliance, governance and employee relations, and who thrives on working with leaders to enable both legally compliant and commercially pragmatic outcomes.
Working across two Brisbane-based offices, with a primary base near Brisbane Airport and regular presence in Newstead, this role is positioned to support the business on a journey of continuous improvement, maturity and alignment in people practices. It is a hands-on, advisory role requiring a balance of subject matter expertise, business acumen and the ability to work collaboratively with our teams across Australia and New Zealand.
About the Role

This role acts as an internal advisor and partner to identify exposures, shape practical resolutions, and help teams understand and own compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Review HR practices to identify potential compliance risks and misalignment with obligations.
- Provide clear, practical advice on industrial instruments, the Fair Work Act and other employment legislation.
- Develop and deliver findings, reports, and recommendations that are tailored to business context and risk appetite.
- Work collaboratively with external legal advisors to interpret and operationalise advice.

- Maintain registers of compliance risks and monitor remediation activities.
- Assist in building internal knowledge through education and guidance materials.
- Stay abreast of legislative and industrial changes and translate them into actionable impacts for the organisation.
- Support the oversight, tracking and reporting of key People metrics, ensuring alignment with workplace gender equality commitments, including meeting targets and reporting obligations.
- Contribute to cross-functional working groups, ensuring compliance with People goals that are part of broader sustainability, modern slavery and privacy obligations.
About You
You will bring a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset with a deep understanding of HR governance, compliance or employee relations. Most importantly, you will be someone who brings others along on the journey - knowing when to advocate, when to advise, and when to partner.
Your Background Will Likely Include:
- Tertiary qualifications in, Law, Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian and New Zealand employment legislation and enterprise agreements.
- Demonstrated experience in a compliance, ER/IR advisory or governance-focused HR role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in report development and translating technical language into simple, concise and practical advice.
- Ability to influence, collaborate and deliver outcomes across a diverse stakeholder group
Desirable Experience
- Previous work in large, complex or multi-site environments.
- Familiarity with Payroll and HRIS systems.
- Experience contributing to policy or compliance reform programs.
