As an Accessory Fitter, your responsibilities will include:
· Carrying out vehicle repairs and/or maintenance as per the repair order within the allocated time to the Manufacturer’s and State requirements
· Plan each job for maximum efficiency and order parts where necessary/when required
· Follow correct procedures when carrying out warranty work and ensure all warranty parts are tagged immediately with the correct information and placed in warranty storage
· Be responsible for the care and use of all workshop tools and equipment
· Correctly complete all works as per standard repair time guide
· Complete all paperwork correctly with all details regarding works carried out after completion of each job and/or parts ordered
· Return vehicles in a clean condition after repairs by removing all plastic, tools and rags from vehicle on completion, use guard covers, seat covers and floor mats at all times
· Maintain workbench and bay areas in a clean, safe, orderly and attractive state
· Attend training and or any other trade /TAFE courses to maintain current product related technical information
· Provide support to Apprentice Technicians as required
· When required technician to road test vehicles
· Follow RO procedures and ensure all parts are written on RO and authorised by service personnel
· Take reasonable care for own H&S and that of the environment, as well as care for the H&S of persons who may be affected by the Accessory Fitter’s acts or omissions at the workplace
· Attend toolbox meetings and HS Training sessions
About You
- Qualified Automotive Fitter/ Technician with Registration Licence
- Current drivers Licence
Knowledge and Experience
- General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operation and ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
- Extensive knowledge of the Retail Motor Industry and prior experience in a retail franchise preferred
Professional Skills / Technical Skills / Competencies
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
· Effective time management and organisational skills; ability to prioritise and multitask
· Proactive, team player with solid problem solving and analytical skills
